A wounded Iraq War veteran finished a 113-mile bike ride to raise awareness for the plight of injured combat veterans.

Army Sgt. Josh Cope, who lost both his legs in a roadside bombing in Baghdad in 2006, hand-pedaled on this three-wheeled bike from Orlando to Tampa Bay Saturday, MyFoxTampaBay.com reports.

'The hardest part was about 20 miles out.'

Cope, 29, rolled into a parking lot near the Beef O'Brady's restaurant in Tampa about 12 hours after setting out on his journey, according to Tampa Bay Online.

"The hardest part was about 20 miles out," Cope told the website, after well-wishers gathered to shake his hand. "But we were getting this done. There was no giving up."

Cope and some of his Army buddies, who also suffered various injuries, were searching for a way to raise money for Building Homes for Heroes, an organization that helps provide homes for the wounded and their families.

Cope said he looked at his bike and came up with an idea.

"I would ride 100 miles," he said.
