LOHAN ARRESTED: Star Punches Woman In Face at NY Club, Cops Say
Nov 29th 2012, 13:36

NEW YORK –  "Oh my God! I didn't touch anyone!"

Those were the words of Lindsay Lohan as she was led by police in handcuffs from a New York nightclub in the wee hours Thursday morning for allegedly punching a woman in the face.

The actress was arrested and charged with assault, an NYPD rep told FOX 411.

Lohan, 26, allegedly got into a fight with a female patron at Club Avenue around 4:00 a.m. Thursday when an apparent verbal altercation turned physical, the police rep said.

Sources told TMZ the two women were seated in booths near each other inside the club when they began exchanging words. Lohan reportedly said something to the effect of: "Give me my space."

Lohan then allegedly struck the woman, and the woman called police. Lohan was booked on a desk ticket and released a few hours later, the NYPD rep said.

Lohan has had frequent run-ins with law enforcement in New York and California. If the "Mean Girls" actress is found guilty of assault in New York, it could lead to issues with her probation in California on a jewelry theft conviction, attorney Gregory Gianforcaro explained to FOX 411.

"It does not matter in what jurisdiction someone violates probation in," he said. "But it's only a violation if she is found guilty of the incident in New York. Until then, it's not necessarily a violation of probation."

The week had already started badly for Lohan with news that Lifetime may sue the actress for breach of contract from her work in the network's TV movie "Liz & Dick."

Lohan's contract with Lifetime's insurance company explicitly stipulated that not only was the film's star prohibited from getting behind the wheel, but from riding in any other vehicle other than the one provided -- with a driver -- by Lifetime throughout the six week filming period.

That all fell apart in June when the actress' car slammed into the rear of an 18-wheeler in California, then told cops that she wasn't the one driving the car.

A source told FOX 411 Lifetime is currently talking to Lohan's legal team in attempt to sort the issue out before it goes to court.

Lohan's performance in "Liz & Dick" was widely criticized, along with the TV movie's writing. "Liz & Dick" was the network's fourth highest rated movie of 2012.
