DEVELOPING: A plane approaching an Illinois airport is reportedly preparing for an emergency landing.
Fox2Now.com reports that the Learjet with eight passengers is experiencing landing gear problems. Officials at Parks Airport in Cahokiam, about 5 miles south of St. Louis, Mo., said they are preparing for an emergency-landing scenario.
Four ambulances have been requested along with other emergency equipment. The plane reported problems with its landing gear just before noon.
The plane flew by the tower for a visual inspection when it was determined that the front landing gear was copped to the side, making it impossible to make a safe landing.
FAA officials told FoxNews.com they had no information as of 12:45 local time.
