GOODWELL, Okla. –  Authorities says at least one is dead and three are missing after two trains collided in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

The identity of the the person who was killed has not been released, News 9 reports.

Texas County Emergency Management Director Harold Tyson says officials received emergency calls a little after 10 a.m. Sunday that two trains has crashed near Goodwell.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Betsy Randolph says at least three people were missing, but she and Tyson didn't know how many people were on the trains or if there were any injuries or fatalities.

Union Pacific Railroad spokeswoman Raquel Espinoza confirmed that two of the company's trains were involved in the accident, but she didn't have any additional information.

Tyson says the collision sparked a diesel fuel blaze that firefighters were working to extinguish. He said there were chemicals on at least one train, but the flames weren't burning near them.
