SAN ANTONIO –  The San Antonio Fire Department says it's rescued more than 200 people from homes and cars amid flooding that killed at least one person.

The massive flooding Saturday was caused by torrential rains in San Antonio. The Fire Department says it's conducted more than 235 water-related rescues.

Department spokesman Christian Bove says a woman died after being trapped in her car, then getting on the roof being swept away in floodwaters. He says her body was later found against a fence.

By Saturday evening, the water was receding quickly in much of San Antonio. However, pools of water could still be seen in some low-lying areas. And several roads were closed, including a major highway that links the suburbs and the city.
