SINGER'S SNAFUJames Taylor sings wrong song at World Series
Oct 25th 2013, 13:36

James Taylor got a bit confused when it was time to belt out the National Anthem at Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday night.

The legendary folk singer began singing "America the Beautiful" instead of the "Star-Spangled Banner" as the audience at the game looked on. He quickly caught his mistake and switched over to the National Anthem after the first few words.

Taylor, 65, was scheduled to play "America the Beautiful" during the seventh inning of the game, so that may be where the mix up came from. Taylor was able to transition into the National Anthem seamlessly and his mistake was barely noticed... barely.

Some users on Twitter, however, were quick to comment on his faux pas.

"I've seen fire and I've seen rain and at least I know which song is the #nationalanthem," one user quipped.

"James Taylor is great and all, but he just made up his own National Anthem," another noted.

Others defended the singer. "So what if James Taylor messed up? It was still beautiful," one tweeted.

Later, Boston Marathon bombing survivors stood on the field during the seventh inning stretch as Taylor led the crowd in "America the Beautiful."
