TEACHER MURDERED Student, 14, arrested after body found at school Oct 23rd 2013, 16:32 A 14-year-old has been arrested in the murder of a 24-year-old Massachusetts teacher, prompting officials to close all public schools in the town of Danvers as the investigation continues. Colleen Ritzer of Andover, a Danvers High School teacher, was found dead in the woods behind the school. Police were told that she had not returned home from work and was not answering her cellphone, Jonathan Blodgett, the Essex district attorney, said. Investigators found blood in a second floor school bathroom and soon located the victim. The teen, who faces arraignment on Wednesday, did not return home from school Tuesday. He was found by Topsfield police early Wednesday morning wandering Route 1, authorities said. His name was not made public because of his age. Authorities said they are going to "take a hard look" at charging the teen as an adult. Blodgett did not say how Ritzer died or if the two knew each other. Authorities said there is no reason to believe there is another suspect. High school student Kendall Meehan told the Boston Herald that the school superintendent alerted families with a robo telephone call Wednesday morning. "It's just terrifying," she said. "Nothing like this ever happens in Danvers." Ritzer appeared to have a Twitter account where she posted math questions and assignment for students. On Aug. 11, she posted, "No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind."
