Police in Cleveland are investigating the deaths of three people whose bodies were found wrapped in plastic Friday and Saturday.
Fox8.com reported that the first body, of a woman, was found Friday morning after police received multiple calls about a foul odor coming from a garage in East Cleveland. The body was wrapped in a black bag and a pink cover. That same day, police arrested 35-year-old Michael Madison after a brief standoff at his mother's house.
On Saturday, police returned to search the area again, saying that Madison had given them information that led them to believe that there were more bodies. The other two bodies were found later in the day. Police say that Madison is the only suspect in the deaths, but no charges have been filed.
Police said that the two bodies found Saturday appear to be female, but added it was hard to determine because the bodies were so badly decomposed. Authorities estimate that the women died within the past week or past 10 days. The identities and ages of the deceased have not been made public, and the cause of death has not been determined.
East Cleveland residents are planning to search vacant houses on Sunday to make sure there are no more undiscovered bodies in the area.
East Cleveland is a suburb of Cleveland. In 2011, Anthony Sowell was found guilty of killing 11 women and hiding their remains around his Cleveland home. He was sentenced to death, and remains in prison.
