LINCOLN DEFACEDPark Police Investigate Vandalism at Memorial Jul 26th 2013, 13:01 The U.S. Park Police in Washington are investigating suspected vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall. Police say green paint was discovered early Friday on the white marble statue and on the floor area around the statue. No words, letters or symbols were visible in the paint. Police say the memorial will be closed until the National Park Service can finish cleaning up the paint. That's expected to happen Friday morning. Click here for more from MyFoxDC.com.
