NHL cancels first 2 weeks of regular season Oct 4th 2012, 19:09 Published October 04, 2012 FoxNews.com NEW YORK –  The National Hockey League says it has canceled the 2012-13 regular season through Oct. 24. The professional hockey league said in a statement Thursday that a total of 82 regular-season games were scheduled for Oct. 1 through Oct. 24.  The league said in the statement that the cancellation was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Player's Association and the NHL.
